Economic Issues:
- We must expand our tax base by attracting additional businesses in the retail and restaurant sectors.
- We must encourage “good growth”. Not every new business in Springdale will contribute to our quality of life. We need to attract those that will.
- All regulation must be flexible and moderate. We need reasonable, flexible guidelines to help improve our commercial areas and the quality of life for our residents.
- Careful planning, zoning, and meeting of infrastructure needs, are critical to economic success and positive growth in Springdale.
Public Safety:
- Problems stemming from illegal immigration must be controlled through continued support and funding of the 287g program, and the NWA Regional Immigration Task Force.
- Common-sense enforcement of existing codes will increase property values in our older and more affordable residential neighborhoods.
- The Springdale Nuisance Abatement Partnership (or SNAP Team) should be strengthened and expanded. This program is one key component of a comprehensive plan to reduce gang activity, graffiti, and other nuisance crimes in our city.
Let’s bring a New Day to Springdale:
- A day when our police force has enough officers that they can engage in more proactive community policing.
- A day when the elected council members are responsive to citizen concerns.
- A day when another exit from 540 relieves traffic congestion and sparks good commercial growth.
- A day when council members and city staff work collaboratively to accomplish great things.
- A day when the citizen voice is heard at city hall.
- A day when we work with our neighboring cities to do what’s best for Springdale residents.
- A day when we understand our economic issues in the larger context of this Northwest Arkansas Region.
Council members are elected to represent the citizens. As such, I will be highly accessible to all Springdale citizens. I commit to respond promptly to all phone messages, letters, and emails sent to me from citizens of Springdale.
The political machine, the same old thing, isn’t working. It’s time for a New Day in Springdale, and I’m asking for your support and for your vote.
